Our
 Mission
The mission of the Browns Backers of Jamestown, NY is to get together with other fans of the Orange and Brown to cheer on the "Dawgs" each week.  We want to meet as many Browns fans as we can from our area and from other Browns Backers groups from all over the country.  Many of our members have attended games in other Browns Backers venues while on vacation, and we have hosted Browns fans from other chapters as well when they were in our area.
The Browns Backers of Jamestown has also donated money (500.00) each year to help support the Browns Backers Worldwide Grant Foundation, and has been annually donating 500.00 each to the St. Susan Center (center for the those in need to receive meals and other assistance) and  A Fresh Start (division of the Alex G.G. Foulk Fund Drug Awareness and Prevention Program) in Jamestown. The Backers also choose a  third, fourth, and sometimes fifth charity each year to make another donation of 500.00. CONGRATULATIONS TO ST.SUSAN'S FOR BEING NAMED AS ONE OF THREE RECIPIENTS OF A $2000.00 GRANT FROM THE BROWNS FOUNDATION IN 2010.  BACKERS OF JAMESTOWN REPRESENTATIVES SANDY WEIMER AND PAUL LOMBARDO WERE PRESENTED THE CHECK ON THE FIELD AT BROWNS STADIUM ON JANUARY 2ND, 2011 PRIOR TO THE BROWNS/STEELERS CONTEST.  The third, forth, and fifth donations over the years made by the Backers of Jamestown have included The Damon Janes Foundation for Sports Injury Research, Kevin's Krusade. The Chautauqua County Veterans Agency, the Chautauqua County Humane Society, Fight for Seeley, (local Sheriff's Deputy who lost his fight with leukemia), Team Smags (Suicide Awareness), Jamestown Area Child Advocacy Program, the Jamestown Area Meals on Wheels, Finn's Fund, Kallie's Krusade, the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame, Exceptional Stars Athletics, UCAN Mission, A.J. Strong Foundation, Jamestown Area Kidney Foundation, the Stephanis Frucella Scholarship Fund, and B.E. Strong 716,  all local charities/causes/groups/organizations earmarked by the Backers of Jamestown for support.
It is our further mission to try and promote fan frenzy with all of the Browns Fans with whom we share games, high fives, hugs, cheers, and tears during the course of the season.  2020 and the Coronavirus restricted our ability to all be together for game days, but the Backers of Jamestown has kept it's mision list within reach and we've had a great season.  It all began on in early March 2019, when we held our first After Season Dinner featuring former Browns Dave Graf (70s), George Lilja (80s), and former Browns TE Stephen Carlson.  Our dinner was just 10 days before things were shut down, but it kept us motivated to accomplish our goals for '20, and now '21, in spite of COVID-19. We' had another dinner in 2022 as well.  Our Mission Statement also emphasizes our cheering on the Browns with CLASS and GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP and to be generous when the Browns win, and gracious when they get outscored. (unless it's against the Steelers, the Ravens, the Bengals, or the Broncos.)
We've been honored to have hosted a large number of Browns Fans and some Fellow Backers from the 216, the 440, and all over Northeast OH-IO, who have found us at Waddington's Tavern, Home of the Browns Backers of Jamestown, NY.   We welcome new members from our area, or anywhere else if they want to join ourt group,,and invite Browns Fans and Backers from other areas to just pop in, introduce yourselves, and join us as we bark, and cheer on the Browns each week and every season.
